The Little Octopus Way

  • Little Octopus Therapy grew from a simple idea: children learn best when support fits naturally into their everyday lives- and when parents feel confident, supported, and included in the process.

  • As a paediatric occupational therapist, I’ve spent many hours sitting on living room floors, building towers out of blocks, splashing in water play, and celebrating the small moments that often mean the most. I remember one little boy I worked with who found getting dressed in the morning incredibly frustrating. His mum told me mornings often ended in tears for both of them. Instead of working on “dressing skills” at a clinic table, we started practising during their real morning routine at home. Slowly, with a few small changes and lots of encouragement, he began putting on his socks himself - and the proud smile on his face when he did it independently for the first time was unforgettable. Moments like that are what inspired Little Octopus Therapy.

  • Over the years, I’ve worked with many families who felt overwhelmed by appointments, travel, and trying to fit therapy into already busy routines. What I saw time and time again was how powerful therapy could be when it happened in real life - during playtime, morning routines, meals, and everyday moments at home.

  • At Little Octopus Therapy, we support children of all abilities across early childhood and the primary school years to grow, regulate, and thrive within the comfort of their own environment. Our work focuses on the everyday skills that truly matter - from coordination and movement, to managing big feelings, sensory needs, attention, confidence, and independence in daily routines.

  • Because our sessions are delivered remotely, we’re able to work within your child’s natural environment - supporting skills where they’re actually used, empowering parents with clear and realistic strategies, and making progress feel achievable and meaningful.
